Some home history

 Bulgaria

Yambol region is located in the south eastern part of Bulgaria. It is bounded by the regions of Sliven, Burgas, Haskovo, and Stara zagora, which all border turkey to the south.

The River Tundzha which runs through Yambol is the largest river in the region. There are many nature reserves in this area of Bulgaria and also many protected areas.

The clean air and beautiful nature offers excellent possibilities for recreation and health tourism. The valley of the  Tundzha River offers good conditions for hunting tourism and boat sightseeing cruises in picturesque areas amidst the lush vegetation.

Also the famous wines of Yambol should not be overlooked!!!

The most famous ancient historical site in this region is of course The Thracian City of Kabile, near the village of Kabile. In the area there are more than 30 fortresses from the antquity and middle ages that used to defend the southern frontier. After the unification of east Rumelia with the Bulgarian principality in 1885 the area became completely liberated. The Kabile National Archaeology Reserve is situated 6km north of the Town of Yambol. It preserves ruins of the most significant antique Tracian town of Kabile. Kabile was established around the year 2000bc and was built in the vacinity of the Zaychi Vrah peak, which in turn hosted a sanctuary dedicated to the Artemida Phrophoros Goddess.  Many ancient and traditional rituals and crafts are preserved in this region and can be seen at many gatherings.

The population of Yambol City is 92928 approx
